She has authored several children’s books and two interior design titles: \u003cem\u003ePerfect Porches\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eA House in the South.\u003c\/em\u003e Among her many honors, she has been named one of the world’s “30 Most Admired Educators” by \u003cem\u003eDesignIntelligence\u003c\/em\u003e and “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst \u0026amp; Young, and was awarded the inaugural \u003cem\u003eElle Decor\u003c\/em\u003e Vision Award, and has been appointed a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French Embassy in the U.S. She currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
